Commensurability (philosophy of science)

Commensurability is a philosophy in science that states that different scientific theories and concepts can be compared and measured. This means that you can take an idea from one area of science and use it to compare or measure an idea from another area of science. This can be helpful because it allows us to understand different ideas in science and see how they are all related. For example, if you wanted to compare the size of a beach ball to the size of a soccer ball, you could use science to measure the size and compare the two. This is an example of commensurability.
