ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Commissioner of Public Safety

Imagine that you are playing in a big playground with lots of other kids. The playground also has lots of things that can be dangerous, like tall slides and sharp swings. Now, in order for everyone to have fun and stay safe, there is someone who is in charge of making sure that everything is okay. That person is like the boss of the playground, and their job is to take care of everyone and make sure that no one gets hurt.

The Commissioner of Public Safety is kind of like the boss of the playground, but for a whole city or state. They are responsible for things like making sure that there are enough police officers to keep people safe, that the fire department is ready to help if there is a fire, and that all the rules about driving on the road are being followed.

The commissioner has a big team of people who work with them to help keep everyone safe. These people might be police officers, firefighters, or other important workers who make sure that everything is going smoothly. They work together to make sure that everyone in the city or state is safe and happy.

So basically, the Commissioner of Public Safety is in charge of making sure that everything is okay and everyone is safe in a big playground (the city or state).
