Department of Public Safety

The department of public safety is like a big group of people who work together to make sure that everyone is safe. Just like how your mom and dad make sure you are safe at home, these people make sure that everyone in the city or state is safe. They do lots of different things to keep us safe.

One of the things they do is make sure that people are following the rules. Just like how you have rules at home like “no running in the house”, they have rules for the city or state like “no speeding”. If someone breaks a rule, the department of public safety might give them a ticket or a fine.

Another thing they do is respond when something bad happens. For example, if there is a fire, they will send firefighters to put it out. If someone is hurt or in danger, they will send police officers and ambulance to help.

The department of public safety also helps people prepare for emergencies. They might tell people what to do if there is a tornado or hurricane coming, or teach them how to perform CPR. They also keep track of high-risk people, like criminals or missing children, to try and keep them safe.

All these things that the department of public safety does are really important for making sure we stay safe. They are kind of like our own big team of superheroes who work together to protect us.
