Commissioning of the Twelve Apostles

Okay, so imagine that there was this really awesome dude named Jesus back in the day. He had a bunch of friends who followed him around and listened to him teach about how to be a good person and love others. These friends were called disciples.

One day, Jesus decided that he was going to pick 12 of his closest disciples to be his special helpers. These 12 were going to go out into the world and spread the message of love and goodness that Jesus had been teaching.

This was a really important decision, so Jesus gathered all of his disciples together and had a big meeting. He talked to them about why he was choosing these 12, and what they were going to do. He made it really clear that they were going to be his messengers and that they needed to take their mission really seriously.

After he talked to them, Jesus did something called "commissioning" them. This means that he gave them a special job and blessed them to go do it. He told them that they had his authority to do the work that he had been doing, like healing people and spreading love.

It was a really cool moment because the 12 apostles (that's what they were called from then on) knew that they had been chosen for a really important job. They knew that they had been given a special blessing and that they needed to do their best to live up to it.

And that's how Jesus commissioned the 12 apostles!
