ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Committee of United Belgians and Liégeois

Okay kiddo, let me try to explain this to you.

Have you ever heard of Belgium? It's a country in Europe. Now, in Belgium, there are different regions with different people who live there. One of these regions is called Liège. People who live in Liège are called Liégeois.

Now, a long time ago, there was a group of people from Liège who felt like they weren't being treated fairly by the people who were in charge of Belgium. They thought that they were being left out and that their voices weren't being heard.

So this group of Liégeois got together with some other Belgians who also felt like they weren't being represented well, and they formed what's called a committee. A committee is just a group of people who work together to try and make things better.

The committee was called the Committee of United Belgians and Liégeois. Basically, their goal was to work together to make sure that everyone in Belgium, no matter where they were from, was treated fairly and had a say in how things were run.

So the Committee of United Belgians and Liégeois was made up of people from different regions of Belgium, but they all had the same goal: to work together to make things better for everyone.

Does that make sense, kiddo?
