Commodity Futures Trading Commission

The Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) is like a police officer for the futures markets. Its job is to make sure that people who buy and sell futures contracts, also known as commodities, do so fairly and safely. The CFTC creates rules to keep the markets running smoothly and to protect people from unfair trading practices, like cheating. It also investigates complaints about unfair trading and can take action against people who break the rules.
