Okay kiddo, so there are some very important gods and goddesses that were worshipped by people who spoke the Germanic languages a long, long time ago. We call these gods and goddesses "Common Germanic deities" because many different groups of people who spoke different Germanic languages all believed in them.
One of the most famous Germanic deities is Thor. He was the god of thunder and lightning. Have you ever seen a big storm with lots of lightning and thunder? Well, in olden times people believed that Thor was causing all of that noise and bright light with his magical hammer.
Another important god was Odin. He was the king of all the gods and was very wise. People believed that he could see everything that was happening in the world, even things that were far away or hidden. He also had two special ravens that would fly around and bring him information.
Then there was Freyja, the goddess of love and fertility. She was very beautiful and people would pray to her to help them find a good partner or to have healthy babies. She also had a big cat that would help her travel around.
There were many more Germanic deities, but those are some of the most famous ones. People would worship them by making offerings, building special temples or shrines, and telling stories about their adventures. Even though people don't worship those gods and goddesses anymore, we can still learn a lot about the way people in ancient times thought and believed.
