Communication in small groups

Okay kiddo, imagine you and your friends want to play a game. But you have to talk to each other to figure out what game to play and how to play it, right? That's called communication.

Now, let's say your mom is also there and wants to join in. Now it's a small group because there are only a few people. But since there are more people, it can be harder to communicate.

To make it easier, you and your friends might take turns talking, listen carefully to what each other says, and ask questions if you're not sure what someone means. This is called active listening.

You might also use gestures and facial expressions to show that you agree or disagree, or use special words like "let's vote" to make a decision.

But even if you do all these things, sometimes people still misunderstand each other or have different opinions. That's okay! It's normal in small groups. The important thing is to keep talking and trying to understand each other, just like you would with your friends when you have a disagreement.
