ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Company switch

Okay, pretend that you and your friend are making cupcakes together. You both have your own ingredients (flour, sugar, eggs, etc.) and mixing bowls, and you're working side by side.

But then, your friend gets called away and can't help you finish the cupcakes. So you decide to switch to a different friend who can help you.

When you switch friends, you need to gather up all your own ingredients and tools and bring them over to the new friend's house. Then you have to figure out how to fit everything into their kitchen, and explain what you've already done and what still needs to be done.

It's sort of like when companies "switch" to a different owner or management group. They have to gather up all their things (like employees, contracts, equipment, etc.) and transfer them to the new "house" (the new company owner or management group). They also have to explain what's been going on and what they still need to work on.

Sometimes, switching to a new friend or a new company can be a little tricky and take some time to adjust to. But hopefully, everything will work out and you'll end up with some delicious cupcakes (or a successful company)!
