Comparison between Interlingue and Interlingua

Alright kiddo, so you know how people speak different languages, like English, Spanish or French? Well, sometimes we need a way to talk to people who speak different languages. That's where interlanguages come in! They are special languages made to help people communicate across different languages.

There are two interlanguages called Interlingue and Interlingua, and they are similar but a little different. Interlingue (also known as Occidental) was created in the early 20th century by a man named Edgar de Wahl. It is based on several European languages like English, French, and German, and uses a lot of Latin roots.

On the other hand, Interlingua was created in the mid-20th century by a group of linguists who wanted to make a language based on the most common words and grammar rules found in many different languages, such as Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese, and English. Interlingua is supposed to be easy to understand for anyone who speaks a language related to those languages, because it uses words that are very similar in different languages.

So to sum it up, Interlingue is based on European languages and uses a lot of Latin roots, while Interlingua is based on common words and grammar rules found in many different languages, making it easier to understand for a wider range of people.
