ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Complex instruction set computer

Complex Instruction Set Computers (CISCs) are computers that have more complicated instructions for the processor (the part of the computer that does the thinking) to do different tasks. Many of the instructions can do more than one thing at a time, which makes them able to do tasks faster. This means that you can get things done quicker and with less effort. The instructions are also written in a way that makes them easier for a computer programmer to understand.
