ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Very long instruction word

Very Long Instruction Word (VLIW) is a type of computer processor that stores a lot of instructions in a single, very long word that can be sent to the processor for execution. This is like a way of packing many instructions into a single instruction, which is more efficient than sending many instructions one at a time. Imagine building with LEGOs. You can build a lot of different things with just a few pieces, but if you only had one piece left, you wouldn't be able to build very much. VLIW is kind of like that single LEGO piece - it can store lots of instructions, so you don't need to use as many pieces to build something.
