ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Complex-base system

A complex-base system is a way of changing numbers from one form to another. It’s like if you had lots of different containers and you were moving an amount of something from one container to another. In a complex-base system, you move numbers from one group of containers to another group of containers, and this helps to make them easier to understand. For example, if you change a number from the decimal system (where there are 10 containers in each group) to the binary system (where there are 2 containers in each group), it can be easier to read or remember.
