Compressed audio optical disc

Okay kiddo, imagine you have a really big box of your favorite toys, but you can't carry it with you wherever you go. So you decide to pick out just a few of your favorite toys to put in a smaller bag that's easier to carry around. This is kind of like what a compressed audio optical disc does.

An optical disc is like a CD or DVD that you might use to watch a movie or listen to music. But instead of just playing one song or movie at a time, a compressed audio optical disc can hold a lot more information. It does this by squeezing the information really tightly, like squishing all your toys into a smaller bag.

When you put a compressed audio disc into a player, it un-squishes the information and you can hear the music or watch the movie just like you would on a regular CD or DVD. The difference is that you can fit a lot more stuff onto one disc, which is helpful for things like long albums or multiple movies.

So, just like how you pick your favorite toys to carry with you, the manufacturers of compressed audio optical discs decide what music or movies to include on each disc, since they can fit more things on it. And that's how a compressed audio optical disc works!
