Computational models of language acquisition

Computational models of language acquisition are ways of understanding how people learn language. Computers are used to try to figure out what the rules are behind language and how children learn language. This is done by creating computer programs (models) that can process words and phrases in the same way a human brain does. The models measure how a child uses, understands, and produces words and sentences and how a child's vocabulary changes as they learn. This helps us learn how children learn language, which can help us understand how to better teach language.
