ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Computer memory

Computer memory is like a brain for a computer. Just like our brain is used to remember things and recall them, a computer's memory does the same thing. Memory helps a computer save and remember the instructions it needs to do its job. It holds all the data a computer needs to remember so it can do tasks quickly and efficiently. It works like this: When a computer is given an instruction or needs to save some data, it stores it in its memory so it can be recalled quickly. The more memory a computer has, the more instructions and data it can remember, making it faster and more efficient.
