ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Computer printer

A computer printer is a machine that prints images and words onto paper. Think of it like a robot that can draw pictures or write words on a piece of paper for you.

When you want to print something from your computer, like a picture of a unicorn or a story about your favorite dinosaur, you click a button and the computer sends the picture or words to the printer. The printer then uses ink or toner to make the image or words appear on the paper.

Some printers can print in different colors, like a rainbow, while others can only print in black and white, like a zebra. Some printers can even print pictures that look like they were taken with a camera!

There are different kinds of printers too, but the most common ones are inkjet and laser printers. An inkjet printer uses small dots of ink to make the picture or words, while a laser printer uses a special powder called toner to create the image.

So, a computer printer is like a special robot that can draw or write things on paper, and it helps you make your computer creations come to life.
