Conflict escalation

Conflict escalation is when a disagreement between two people or groups becomes bigger and more intense. Imagine you and your friend are playing a board game and you both want the same piece. You both start arguing and say mean things to each other. This is an example of conflict escalation because when one person gets angry and says something mean, the other person usually gets angry too and the argument gets bigger. To avoid conflict escalation it is important to stay calm and try to find a solution that everyone can agree on.
