ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Congregationalist polity

Congregationalist polity is like a way that churches and religious communities can organize themselves. It means that each congregation or religious group is like its own little "kingdom". Each congregation has its own set of rules and leaders, and they make their own decisions independently. This means that no higher authority can tell any congregation how to run itself. This is different from other religions, where there is often a higher authority who can tell congregations how to run themselves.
