Connected Component Labeling is like putting a sticker on similar things. Imagine that you have a bunch of objects laying around your house - some apples, some bananas, and some oranges. Connected Component Labeling is like putting a sticker on all the apples so that you know that they're all apples and not something else. It's a way of grouping together similar objects and labeling them.
