Constitutional Movement

Okay kiddo, so let me explain the "Constitutional Movement" in a way you can understand.

You know how we have rules at home? Like 'you can't eat ice cream before dinner' or 'you have to brush your teeth before bed'. Similarly, a country like ours also has rules that we have to follow. These rules are called laws and they are written in a book called the Constitution.

The Constitution is basically a big book that explains how the country should be run, what people can and can't do, and what rights we have as citizens. It's like the rule book for the government.

So, the 'Constitutional Movement' was a period in our history when people in our country were fighting to make changes to this rule book. These people believed that the Constitution needed to be updated to make it fairer and more equal for everyone in the country.

Just like how we might want to change our family rules if we think they are unfair, these people wanted to change the laws in our country if they were not treating everyone equally.

This movement started in the late 19th and early 20th century when India was ruled by the British. People in the country were fighting for independence from British rule, and many of them believed that having a fair Constitution was essential for this freedom.

So, they demanded that the government should include more rights for the people of the country in the Constitution. They wanted to make sure that all citizens had equal rights, regardless of their religion, caste, or gender.

These people worked hard and eventually, their efforts paid off. In 1950, India got its new Constitution, which included many of the changes that these people were demanding.

So, the Constitutional Movement was a time when people in our country were fighting to make the laws and rules in our country fairer and more equal for everyone. It was an important part of our history, and it made a big difference in the way our country is run today.
