Alright kiddo, so during the 1980s, there was a big fighting happening in a country called Nicaragua. There were some people called the Sandinistas that were running the country and some other people called the Contras that didn't like the Sandinistas. The Contras were supported by another country called the United States, which means that the US government gave them weapons and money to fight against the Sandinistas. But some people didn't like this because they thought it was mean to get involved in another country's problems. So there was a big argument about whether or not the US should keep helping the Contras. Does that make sense, little one?
