Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women

Okay, so you know how boys and girls are different, right? But sometimes people treat them different just because they are a boy or a girl. This is called discrimination, and it's not fair or nice.

But there is a group called the United Nations who made a rule called the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women. It's like a big important list of rules that says that boys and girls should be treated the same and have the same rights.

This means that girls should be able to go to school and get a job just like boys can. They should be able to vote and have a say in what happens in their country. They should not be treated unfairly because they are a girl.

Lots of countries have agreed to follow these rules because they know it's important to be fair to everyone. And if someone breaks these rules and treats girls badly, there are people who will make them stop and help the girls.
