Coordinate-measuring machine

A Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) is like a measuring machine for very precise measurements. It uses a probe on the end of an arm, to measure the shape and size of an object. It takes many measurements in different parts of the object and then it sends the measurements to a computer so that it can display them on a screen. This way, engineers and scientists can check if the object they are measuring is the right size or shape.
