ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Copyright law of India

Hey there kiddo! Have you ever created a beautiful painting, written a poem or composed a sweet tune? I am sure you have!

Now, imagine someone else taking your painting or your poem without your permission and using it for their own benefit. That wouldn't be fair, would it?

Well, copyright law in India is here to protect all the amazing creations made by you and others. It is a set of rules that say only the person who made something (like a painting, song, movie or book) has the right to use it, change it and make money from it.

This means that no one else can copy or use your creativity without your permission. If someone wants to use your work, they have to ask you first and agree on a fair payment.

Copyright law in India also sets a time limit for how long your work will be protected – usually up to 60 years after you die! This means that your creations and ideas will always belong to you, even if you are no longer around.

So, always remember to respect other people's creativity and make sure to protect your own original ideas too!
