A double slit experiment is a science experiment that helps us understand how light works. It involves shooting a beam of light (like a laser) through two very thin slits that are close to each other. When the light comes out of the slits, it makes a pattern on a screen behind the slits. This pattern looks like it is made up of stripes of light and dark spots. We can learn a lot from this pattern. One of the things we learn is that light is made up of tiny particles called photons, and when the light passes through the slits, it spreads out and creates the pattern on the screen!
