Diffraction from slits

Diffraction from slits is when light passes through a small opening and spreads out like when you throw a rock in a pond and the water ripples out. The same thing happens with light when it passes through a tiny space like a slit – the light moves out in all directions instead of in just one. It's similar to how when you look at a piece of paper with small lines on it, you can see the lines bend and curve in different directions. That's diffraction from the slits.
