ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

heisenberg uncertainity principle

The Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle is like a game that nature plays with us. It says that when we look very closely at something in nature, we can't see some things at the same time. It's like when you play a game of hide-and-seek and if you look in one spot, the person hiding can't be in both that spot and another spot at the same time. So, the Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle is essentially saying that if we are looking really closely at something in nature, like a tiny particle, we can't know exactly where it is and how fast it is moving and in what direction at the same time. If we can see where it is, we don't know how fast it is going, and if we can see how fast it is going, we don't know where it is, and so on.
