ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Cornicello

A cornicello is a little charm that looks like a very tiny chili pepper or a little horn, and it is often made of red coral or silver. In Italian culture, it is believed to bring good luck and protect against the "evil eye," which is like a bad energy that some people might send your way without meaning to.

The cornicello gets its name from the Italian word "corni," which means "horns." Some people think it looks like a horn, and that's where the name comes from.

People in Italy have been wearing cornicellos for a really long time – like hundreds of years! Some people wear them as necklaces, while others might wear them on a bracelet or even as earrings.

So if you wear a cornicello, you might feel a little bit safer and happier, knowing that you have a little bit of extra luck and protection with you wherever you go!
