Costumbrismo

Okay kiddo, have you ever heard of Costumbrismo? No? Well, it's a big fancy word that grown-ups use to talk about the things people used to do and wear a long time ago.

You know how sometimes you dress up in a cowboy hat and boots, and ride around on your stick horse? That's kind of like Costumbrismo, but for grown-ups. They like to imagine what it was like back in the old days, and they even make paintings and stories about it.

Sometimes they imagine people wearing fancy dresses or big hats, like they did in old-timey movies. Other times, they imagine regular people doing everyday things - like riding bicycles or playing games outside.

It's really just a way for grown-ups to remember what life used to be like a long time ago. And sometimes, they even use Costumbrismo to teach us kids about history and culture. So if you ever hear someone talking about Costumbrismo, just remember that it's all about imagining what life was like in the old days.
