Council of European Municipalities and Regions

Okay kiddo, you know how your school has lots of classes with lots of students? Well, imagine that there are lots of schools all over Europe, and each one has a group of grown-ups called a council.

The Council of European Municipalities and Regions (we'll call it CEMR for short) is like the council for all those grown-ups from all those schools, but instead of talking about reading and math, they talk about helping their towns and cities work better.

See, every town and city has things that need to be done, like fixing roads and buildings, making sure everyone is safe, and making rules for how things should be done. The CEMR helps the grown-ups from all the different towns and cities work together so they can find better ways to get these things done.

They also talk to people who make laws and rules for all of Europe, and tell them about the things that the towns and cities need. And sometimes they even help people from different countries work together on important projects!

So, think of the CEMR as a big meeting where all the grown-ups from lots of different places come together to talk about how to make things better for everyone who lives in their towns and cities. It's kind of like a big grown-up playdate!
