Countdown to Zero

Countdown to zero means counting backwards from a certain number (like 10, 5, 3, 2, 1). This is usually used when counting down from 10 to 0 to show that something is about to happen. An example might be when people count down from 10 at a New Year's Party when the clock strikes 12 - when it reaches 0, the new year starts!
