Counter-insurgency

Counter-insurgency is a way of fighting back against people who are trying to take over a country or region. It involves the use of military and police forces to try to protect the people living there and stop the insurgents, who are often well-armed and fighting to gain power. It can involve things like patrolling streets, searching homes and businesses, setting up checkpoints, and restoring local government in troubled areas. In counter-insurgency, it is not just the military that is fighting - it is important to build relationships with local people and give them the help they need to become safe and secure again. It is all about protecting the people and helping them move on from the conflict.
