Court of King's Bench (England)

The Court of King's Bench was a special type of court in England a really long time ago. It was the court where important people, like the king's friends and government officials, could go to get justice. Imagine you're playing a game with your friends, and one of them cheats and takes all the toys for themselves. You might get mad and want to have a fair adult, like a teacher, make a decision about who gets the toys. That's what the Court of King's Bench did, but for grown-ups instead of kids.

The judges in the Court of King's Bench were very important and they wore special clothes to show that they were important. They wore big wigs, long black robes, and white collars. They were like the referees in a game, but instead of making sure everyone plays fair, they made decisions about who was right and wrong in a case.

People who wanted to use the court to settle their problems had to pay money to get their case heard. The court was very fancy and important, so not everyone could use it. But if you were rich and powerful, you could use the court to make sure that you got your way.

Eventually, the Court of King's Bench was replaced by newer courts that were more fair to everyone, not just important people. But it was an important part of English history and helped show people that they needed a fair way to settle their problems.
