Handicap is a way of making sure everyone has a fair chance to win an activity or game. It's like giving someone an extra boost so that they have an even chance as everyone else. For example, if two people are running a race and one of them is an Olympic runner and the other is just learning how to run, it wouldn't be fair for the Olympic runner to run the whole race without the other person getting a chance of winning. That's where handicap comes in. Handicap can be used to give the beginner runner a head-start so that both of them have an equal chance of winning the race.
