ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Covenant (law)

Okay kiddo, imagine if you and your friend made a promise to always share your toys and never fight. That's kind of like a covenant - it's a special promise that people make to each other.

But the grown-up type of covenant is a little more serious. Sometimes when people buy a house or sign a contract, they will agree to special rules and promises called "covenants." These covenants help everyone agree on how the house or contract should be used and taken care of.

Let's say your family buys a house in a neighborhood with a covenant that says everyone must keep their yard looking nice and follow some other rules. The idea is to help everyone get along and take good care of the neighborhood.

If someone breaks the covenant, it's like they're breaking their promise. They might be in trouble or have to pay a fine. It's important to keep promises and covenants to make sure everyone is happy and everything runs smoothly.
