ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Covering set

Okay kiddo, you know how sometimes we have a bunch of things and we want to make sure we don't miss anything? Like when we clean up all our toys and we want to make sure we put them all away?

Well, sometimes, when we're doing math or computing things, we have a big group of things called a "set" and we want to make sure we don't miss any of those things when we're working with them.

So, a "covering set" is like an extra helper that we use to make sure we look at ALL the things in our big group. It's like a big blanket that we spread over our set, and we can make sure we're counting all the things that are "underneath" it.

That way, we can be really sure that we're not forgetting anything important when we're trying to work with our set.
