Creaky-voiced glottal approximant

A creaky-voiced glottal approximant is a special way of making a sound with your voice that sounds kind of like a creak or a crackly noise. This happens when you make a sound by closing your vocal cords in your throat and then letting them vibrate really slowly, which makes the sound creaky. It's kind of like when you blow across the top of a bottle and it makes a funny sound. When you make this creaky noise with your voice, it is called an approximant because it's not a full-on consonant like "t" or "s", but it's still a sound that helps you make words. People use this sound in certain languages, like Mandarin Chinese, to help them say some of their words correctly.
