Crosswind landing is when a plane needs to land while there is wind blowing in the opposite direction of the plane. To land safely in a crosswind, the pilot needs to adjust the plane in such a way that the wind doesn’t push the plane off the runway. To do this, the pilot needs to point the plane's front (or nose) towards the wind and use the rudder of the plane to keep the plane in line with the runway. The pilot also has to adjust the wings of the plane so that the plane will stay level as it lands. Finally, the pilot will use the plane’s engines, which helps to slow the plane down and to make sure the plane stops on the runway.
