Reverse engineering is like taking apart something to figure out how it works. It's like taking apart a toy you received for your birthday and looking inside to see what makes it run. You might take it apart piece by piece and try to figure out the different pieces and how they work together. Then you might be able to put it back together or you might be able to build something different from it.
