Cryptovirology

Cryptovirology is a way of using cryptography, which is a way of making codes, to create a type of virus. Cryptovirology is used by cybercriminals when they want to steal sensitive information or money from someone. When a cybercriminal creates a cryptovirus, also known as ransomware, they use a code to lock up a person's computer so that they can no longer access it. The cybercriminal then demands money from the person before they will give them back access to their computer. It is important to always be careful when you're online so that your computer and information don't get locked up by a cryptovirus!
