ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Cultural Marxism

Cultural Marxism is an idea that tries to explain why some people in a society have less power or fewer choices than other people. It says that the way a society is organized affects the sorts of choices people have, and that some forms of organization—like capitalism—pressure some people to do what the powerful people want them to do instead of what's best for them. Cultural Marxists think that if a society values different things, then people in that society might have a better chance to make decisions that fit their own needs and make their own lives better.
