ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Cultural relativism

Cultural relativism is a way that people look at different cultures. People who believe in cultural relativism think that it's important to not judge the values and beliefs of different cultures, but to understand and appreciate them. This means that we shouldn't judge people from different cultures for doing things that might seem strange to us, because other cultures have different values, beliefs and ways of life. For example, if a girl in one culture wears a headscarf but you don't in your culture, you could appreciate that the girl in the other culture chooses to wear a headscarf for a variety of reasons that have to do with their beliefs and values.
