Cumulus 28

Okay kiddo, Cumulus 28 is actually a special type of cloud. You know how sometimes we look up in the sky and we see different kinds of clouds that look like fluffy cotton candy or like a big blanket covering the sky? Cumulus 28 is one of those clouds that looks like a big, fluffy cotton ball.

But here's the thing: "Cumulus" means "heap" or "pile," because these clouds are made up of little water droplets that have piled up on top of each other. And "28" simply means that this particular type of cumulus cloud is about 28,000 feet in the air, which is really high up!

When you look at a Cumulus 28 cloud, you'll notice that it has a flat bottom and a puffy, rounded top. This is because the air near the ground is warmer and rises up, and as it rises, it cools down. When it cools down, the water droplets in the air start to stick together and form clouds. And because the air is still moving upward, these clouds keep piling up higher and higher until they reach that height of 28,000 feet.

Now, Cumulus 28 clouds can sometimes bring us rain or even thunderstorms, because as those water droplets keep piling up and getting heavier, they eventually start falling back down to the ground as rain or hail. But other times, they're just harmless and fun to look at!

So that's Cumulus 28 for you, kiddo. It's a big, fluffy cloud that sits really high up in the sky and can bring us rain or thunderstorms sometimes. But mostly, it's just a cool thing to see while we're outside playing or going for a walk.
