ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Curie–Weiss law

Ok, kiddo! So have you ever played with magnets before? You know how sometimes they stick together and sometimes they push each other apart?

Well, scientists have been studying magnets for a really long time and they discovered something called the Curie-Weiss law. This law helps us understand how really strong magnets act when they get hot or cold.

So basically, when a magnet gets really really hot, it starts to lose its ability to stick to other magnets. The same thing happens when it gets really cold - it becomes less magnetic.

The Curie-Weiss law helps scientists understand this behavior by telling us how the temperature affects the magnetism of a material. Scientists can use math to plot the relationship between temperature and magnetism, and this helps them predict how strong a magnet will be at different temperatures.

So the next time you play with magnets, remember that they don't always act the same way - their strength can change with the temperature!
