D-Day is when lots of soldiers went to fight in World War II. It happened on June 6th, 1944, when thousands of boats, airplanes, and soldiers went to a beach called Normandy in France. The soldiers who fought were from the United States, Canada, and Great Britain. They went there to fight against Nazi Germany, who was taking over many countries in Europe. The fighting was very hard, and many soldiers were killed, but eventually, the Allies took control of the beach and started to move towards Germany. D-Day was a very important day in history, because it helped to turn the tide of the war and bring it closer to an end.
