DARPA Grand Challenge

The DARPA Grand Challenge is kind of like a race for robots. DARPA stands for Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, and this group builds robots to help the U.S. military. The Grand Challenge is a race for robots in which they compete to be the fastest. The robots navigate a course and try to complete it in the shortest amount of time. The robots have to be able to find their way, pick up objects and recognize obstacles in the race course, and they need to be able to do it while going as fast as possible. Whoever designs the fastest robot gets a prize. It's like a really big robot competition!
