ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

DBase

DBase is a computer program that people use to store and organize information. It's like a big filing cabinet where you can put lots of different things, like pictures, names, addresses, and other important information.

Just like a filing cabinet has drawers and folders, dBase has tables and fields. Tables are like the drawers, where you put things of the same kind together. Fields are like the folders, where you put specific information about the things you put in the table.

For example, if you have a table for your classmates, you can have fields like "name", "age", "address", and "phone number". You put all the names in one field, all the ages in another field, and so on.

When you want to look at the information you stored in dBase, you can use things called queries. Queries are like asking a question in dBase. You can ask dBase to show you all the kids who are 6 years old or younger, and it will find all the information in the "age" field that matches your question.

In summary, dBase is a computer program that helps you store and organize information, like a big filing cabinet. You use tables and fields to put different types of information together, and queries to ask dBase questions about the information you stored.
