DOS (CONFIG.SYS directive)

DOS (Disk Operating System) is a special program that helps your computer run. When your computer starts up and you see a black screen with white letters, that's DOS!

One of the things you can do in DOS is give it some special instructions so that it knows how to work better for you. One of these instructions is called "config.sys directive."

"Config" means "configure" which is just a fancy way of saying "set things up the way we want them to be." And "sys" means "system," which is another way of saying how your computer works.

So when we put these two words together, we get "config.sys directive," which means we are telling DOS how we want the system to be set up.

For example, we might tell DOS to use a certain amount of memory, or to load certain programs when the computer starts up. This helps make sure that everything works smoothly and efficiently!
