Quantum means very small and it refers to particles that are too small for us to see. They're so tiny that it's impossible for scientists to measure them directly. Instead, scientists use equations to describe how these particles interact with other particles and with energy. When scientists put particles together, they can do amazing things because of how these particles interact with each other.
